  • Load Calculation

    It is essential to accurately calculate the Axial Load (Fa), Radial Load (Fr), Overturning Moment (M), and the required Output Torque (T)​ under the actual operating conditions.

  • Verification of Self-Locking Capability

    Not all worm gear drives are absolutely self-locking. Self-locking depends on the reduction ratio, lead angle, and friction coefficient. It is necessary to confirm with the manufacturer​ whether the self-locking requirement is met for safety.

  • Efficiency and Heat Dissipation

    The transmission efficiency of worm gears is relatively low (typically 70%-90%). Heat dissipation​ must be considered for continuous operation or high-power applications, and forced cooling may be required.

  • Backlash Requirement

    The appropriate backlash (gear play) grade​ should be selected based on positioning accuracy requirements.

  • Mounting Interface

    Clearly define the interface type, dimensions, and tolerances​ for the mounting holes and rotating shaft.
